Dreamfinder and Figment appeared at EPCOT’s opening day celebration, but their attraction, Journey into Imagination, would not open until March 1983. The original version of the attraction closed in 1998, with its ride time cut in half and Dreamfinder and Figment removed entirely. The removal of the beloved characters was met with criticism, leading Disney to close the attraction in 2001 and reintroduce Figment.
