Connecticut will only see about an inch of snow Thursday, missing the brunt of a major winter storm moving across the United States this week, NWS says.

It's possible Connecticut will get a bit more snow this week. The National Weather Service 's detailed forecast said that parts of Connecticut are set for snow this Thursday. Meteorologist David Stark said that southern Connecticut may see temperatures in the mid to upper 20's on Thursday.

Another winter storm will bring a period of snow, rain and mixed precipitation to Connecticut this weekend, before bitter cold sets in early next week.

Snowfall forecasts have shifted Wednesday morning, but parts of Connecticut could still 2 inches of snow. Higher amounts are possible, but less likely.
