Former NHL player Joe Pavelski won the American Century Championship on Sunday at Edgewood Tahoe, closing with an eagle to beat former pitcher John Smoltz by nine points in a wire-to-wire victory in the celebrity event.

Longtime MLB pitcher John Smoltz finished second and was among several other elite athletes beaten out by Pavelski at the top of the leaderboard. Country singer Jake Owen finished third, former soccer player Taylor Twellman finished fourth and NBA superstar Stephen Curry finished fifth.
Pavelski is tied with former soccer player Taylor Twellman at 44 points. Former Cowboys QB Tony Romo is eight points back.
