After a bumpy start to the New Year, the Ottawa Senators are back on track. The Senators have started climbing up the Eastern Conference standings again with three straight victories ahead of Thursday's encounter with the Washington Capitals.
Ottawa Senators defenceman Thomas Chabot had a different look on Saturday. The 27-year-old returned to the lineup following a one-game absence with a full visor as the Senators were set to face the Boston Bruins on Hockey Day In Canada.
Chabot (face) is good to return for Saturday's clash against Boston, per TSN 1200 Ottawa. Chabot missed Thursday's 1-0 overtime loss to Washington because of the injury. He has three goals, 19 points,
Injuries have disrupted the Senators' lineups. His most common partner last season, Artem Zub, sustained a violent concussion in the third game of the season, and upon his return, he did not resemble his usual self. After eight nondescript games, Zub suffered a fractured foot, which caused him to miss another 16 games.
Chabot was hit in the face by a puck in Tuesday's game versus the Islanders, per TSN 1200 Ottawa. The Senators did not provide an official update during the contest, but it appears Chabot won't be able to finish the game. His status for Thursday versus the Capitals is unclear.
