Oilers netminder Stuart Skinner left Tuesday’s game against the Boston Bruins after getting hit by defenceman Nikita Zadorov. The incident happened with five and a half minutes left in the first period when Zadorov was driving to the net.

In a measuring stick game at the Garden on Tuesday, the Bruins simply did not measure up. The Edmonton Oilers, both very good and very hot, came onto Causeway Street and had their way with the overmatched B’s, smoking them, 4-0.

They weren’t awful in a loss at Pittsburgh in their previous game on Thursday, but they had one of their worst stretches in ages during the first period — a six-to-eight-minute span that coach Kris Knoblauch called “garbage” on Friday.
