The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces had launched a massive strike overnight in retaliation for "the terrorist acts of the Kiev regime," adding that it involved long-range precision weapons, Kinzhal air-based hypersonic missiles and drones.

Russia again attacked targets in Ukraine with dozens of combat drones on Friday, just a day after a similar, massive night-time drone attack. Anti-aircraft fire could be heard in Kiev in the evening.
