Per MLB.com's Daniel Kramer, the Mariners and LSU star pitcher Kade Anderson agreed on a signing bonus worth around $8.8 million. That signing bonus is $700,000 lower than the slot value for the No. 3 pick, Kramer noted, so Seattle will get some flexibility with the leftover money.
The Los Angeles Angels shocked observers by taking UC Santa Barbara pitcher Tyler Bremner at No. 2 overall. The Seattle Mariners took LSU left-hander Kade Anderson, who helped his team win the 2025 College World Series, at No. 3 while the Colorado Rockies selected Ethan Holliday, son of former star outfielder Matt Holliday, at No. 4.
The local kid went to the Mariners' most bitter rival Sunday, as Houston selected Mount Vernon star Xavier Neyens with the 21st pick in the 2025 MLB draft.
