Six Flags is selling seven of its amusement parks, including Worlds of Fun and Six Flags St. Louis. The new owner is based in Missouri.

Kansas City-based EPR Properties plans to acquire Six Flags St. Louis and six other regional Six Flags parks, including Worlds of Fun, in a deal valued at $342 million. EPR Properties said it will invest about $315 million, with park operators providing the rest.
The sale allows the nation’s largest amusement park chain to better focus on top money-making locations like Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the parent company that owns Six Flags Great America in north suburban Gurnee, announced in a news release Thursday that it has reached an agreement to sell seven of its parks as part of the company's plan "to optimize and strengthen (its) park portfolio.
