The Golden State Warriors may complete an NBA-altering deal for a Los Angeles Lakers standout forward this season.

The Golden State Warriors dropped to 19-20 after Monday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors, finding themselves out of the Western Conference playoff picture, far from NBA title contention.

On top of that, the Lakers can swap first-round picks in 2026 and 2028 and trade or swap their selection in 2029, 2030, and 2031, which makes taking the bait a bit more palatable for the Warriors, who will inevitably have to rebuild at some point.

The Golden State Warriors need some type of miracle to become contenders again. Otherwise, Golden State should consider blowing it up. Entering Monday, the 19-19 Warriors were on the outside of the Play-In race looking in -- a tough pill to swallow for a franchise that's won four titles in the last decade.

The Golden State Warriors are expected to be one of the more active teams around the NBA ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline. As Golden State continues its season, the front office has been trying to add more star talent to pair alongside guard Stephen Curry.
