Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at a jewelry store near The Oaks Mall, Saturday night.

Deputies responded to the Oaks Mall after calls of shots fired, according to deputies. No injuries were reported and one person was detained in connection to the incident, according to officials.

The Gainesville Police Department confirmed on its Facebook page there was no active shooting situation at the Oaks Mall on Feb. 14, 2026.

U.S. Bank court documents show that The Oaks Mall is under receivership after its owners at Brookfield Properties have failed to repay the remaining $78 million balance on a 2012 loan.
