Around 33 million people are under winter alerts Saturday as Floridians brace for bitter cold and snow takes aim at the southern Appalachians and the Southeast

Cold and snowy winter weather continues with temperatures up to the teens once more today, with accumulating lake effect snow showers expected through Saturday morning and dangerously cold temperatures tomorrow.
Yet another frigid weekend is on the way. Plan ahead for a burst of snow late Friday followed by dangerously cold wind chills between -20° and -35° Saturday and Sunday.
Go ahead and do those hard freezes preps once again this weekend. Morning lows will be cold enough Saturday and Sunday mornings to cause issues with pipes. Duration of freezing temperatures could last anywhere from 8-16 hours across the local area. Make sure to protect the 4 “P”s over the weekend including people, pets, plants & pipes.
The bitter cold will linger, with another shot of Arctic Air set to arrive over the weekend. Wind chills will again drop into the danger zone, and we will likely see another Extreme Cold Warning for Friday night through early Sunday.
