A tornado watch was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 6:28 p.m. EDT in effect until 11 p.m. EDT for Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph counties.

Forecasters use the terms tornado watch and tornado warning when predicting if and where tornadoes are possible in an area. How are they different?

Many Oklahomans were under a tornado warning on April 3 as a tornado-warned storm crossed south OKC and Moore, bringing with it hail and strong winds.

"I don’t know. I just felt like I did what I was supposed to do," manager Aubrey McKenzie said after the incident

The warning had been issued for Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. "The tornado threat has diminished and the Tornado Warning has been cancelled. However, damaging winds remain likely and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area. However, heavy rain is still possible with this thunderstorm," says the National Weather Service.
