Almost one year after a door plug blowout on one of its 737 Max jets led to an explosive decompression, Boeing is now detailing the steps it has taken to improve safety during the manufacturing process.

Boeing said Friday that it had hit several internal targets on safety and quality control despite a series of deadly crashes, near catastrophes and embarrassing incidents that has seen its share price plunge and airlines around the world pull some of its planes.

FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker posted in a blog on Friday that more work needs to be done at Boeing, even after a year a series of unprecedented steps to fix oversight of the company.
