Three months into 2025, the United States has surpassed the total number of measles cases in the country for all of last year.

The United States has already experienced more cases of measles in the country in the two-and-a-half months of 2025 than it did the entire year of 2024.

Measles cases have surpassed last year’s total less than three months into the year, as the outbreak in West Texas continues to spread.

Measles cases have surpassed 300 in the U.S. in 2025 thus far, more than the total number of infections seen in all of 2024.

Only two and a half months into the new year, the measles cases recorded from the U.S. have already surpassed the total cases reported for all of 2024, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
