The WLOX First Alert Weather Team is tracking Invest 93L near the east coast of Florida. Invest 93L is expected to track west across Florida and move into the eastern Gulf by Wednesday. Further development is possible with 93L.

TROPICS: We continue to keep a close eye on the tropics. The disturbance just off the Florida east coast (Invest 93L) has a medium (40%) chance of development.

The Gulf Coast is bracing for a potential tropical storm as Invest 93L shows increasing signs of developing into Dexter, with landfall possible as early as this week, the FOX Forecast Center warns.

At least 2-3 inches of rainfall is possible over Florida's Gulf Coast region and the inland areas through Thursday.
