House Republicans propelled President Donald Trump's big multitrillion-dollar tax breaks and spending cuts bill to final passage Thursday in Congress, overcoming multiple setbacks to approve his signature second-term policy package before a Fourth of July deadline.

The Republican package would slash taxes, boost spending on immigration enforcement and the military, and impose steep cuts to Medicaid, SNAP and clean energy funding.

The sweeping tax-and-spending package now heads to President Donald Trump's desk a day before his July 4 deadline.
