Jost is Johansson's third attempt at marriage after she married art dealer Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017, and actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011. The actress noted that her marriage to Jost has been seamless so far because they practically see the world the same way. In her words:
